The 3 sources shown include Hitler's propaganda and fascism, a map of europe and the iron curtain, and a Stalin quote.

The first source is a poster of Hitler in propaganda and a phrase in German that says "Long Live Germany"

The second source is a map of Europe after World War 2.

The third source is a quote from Joseph Stalin saying "Death is the solution to all problems. No man-no problem.

You do not have much here. What you need to consider is that you should be explaining the different ideologies as well as what is in the picture. Explain the source in source one and explain fascism. Discuss how propaganda was used by the government. Explain how much influence the government had and how involved they were. Give examples. Then do the same for the other two sources. Be sure to add a fourth paragraph that discusses the relationships between all three sources and gives your opinion (back it up) on how much the government should be involved in society.

social essay

Government control is a wonderful but powerful thing. A government must be in control but not too much. When government control is too strong a country can run into wars or even poverty. Through out history government show prime examples of why government needs to be a perfect balance of freedom and control. A few days ago I was given a sheet with a few source showing examples of governments.

Source one has a picture of Hitler holding the Nazi flag with a caption below saying"Long Live Germany!". This picture portrays the government involvement in Germany. Germany's government back then was a fascist, and ultranationalist state. That style of government is a perfect example on how government control is too strong. A strong government presence like this one can create a poverty, anger with in country, and can start a rebellion.

In this source it shows a map and how in world war 2 the separation of Europe and the two different government ideology's. Communism and Democratic Capitalism were the two parties fighting for power. Communism controlled economy, political freedom and public property. What ever you owned they owned. Democratic Capitalism had economic freedom, political freedom, and a blend of public and private property. Personally I would join a democratic capitalist party because it seems like your interest matters ore to the government.

In source 3 its a quote from Joseph Stalin saying"Death is the solution to all problem. No man-no problem." Joseph Stalin was a Communist dictator. he ran his country in fear. A country that is ran in fear is set up for a direct failure. A communist government such as this one has no freedom what so ever. In this source it shows how Stalin was dictator and ran his country with a iron fist.

If i were to choose a government ideology that suits a country the best is a democratic socialist. A democratic socialism government has both economic freedom and political freedom. Countries with this ideology often don't have poverty crime is to a low and are usually a peaceful country.

Source 2:
  • The Division of germany
  • Why the Iron  curtain came to use
  • Stalin's view on the matter
  • Need for Air drops
  • Why they Didn't stop

  Source 3:
  • What is the meaning of this quote
  •  How would he use this
  • Why would he
  • Why shouldn't he
  • What is his thinking about this
Intro :
Talk briefly about all 3 sources

Conclusion:
How do you think the role of these sources should be

The government of your country has a major influence on your life. They create the laws you follow, regulate your countries budget, and multiple other nice things. There is a point were they go to far and get your country destroyed, just like Hitler, the cold war and Stalin.

Source 1

In Source 1 there is a picture of Hitler holding a flag with a swastika on it. The caption at the bottom said "Long Live Germany"." This picture shows the influence of Hitler on the people of Germany. Everybody (in his day) in his country followed him through every thing. Like when Hitler blamed all the problems that Germany had on the Jewish people, so he decided to try and wipe them all out. the In the end the control Hitler had proved to be to much. He wanted and wanted and was eventually destroyed. And everybody lived happily ever after.

Source 2

In source two we are given a map of Europe after World War Two. It shows were the iron curtain divides everybody. The two divisions were Democratic capitalism and Communism. On one side of the curtain people could own their own property and have their own businesses. On the other side everybody shared everything, their government had total control over everything but everybody was created equal. The first side had class structure very wealthy to very poor.

Source 3

This source is a quot form Joseph Stalin. "Death is the solution to all problems. No man no problem." This means that if he has a problem with a certain person they are going to die. This idea of his struck terror over his country and it helped control people. Joseph Stalin was a communist leader, he created a country that everybody was created equal nobody was above anybody (other than himself). Stalin created the Gulag "labour camps" in witch the would work long hours with little sleep or food.

These three sources show that drastic government is a little over the top. They either had full control or no control (communism to capitalism). Although there has not been a perfect government, us Canadian may be close because were awesome. The moral of the story is ever body has their differences. I think there needs to be a government that is half way between communism and capitalism.

writing assignment #2

Two of the most inhumane events in man-kinds history was the holocaust and the genocide of the Ukranians. These devastating happenings of our past will remain with all humanity forever. The occurrence of strong, hated dictators has left an embarrassing history and past for the population of humans causing them to feel shame and regret forever. All we can do is learn from our past and keep reteaching it so we can prevent history occurring again. In the next following paragraphs I will be discussing the affects of Adolf Hitler, Joseph Stalin, and the Coldwar.

                         Source 1
Adolf Hitler was indeed a fascist, many people looked up to him and trusted him with the ruling of their country, unaware of all the damage that was to be done. In source 1 the picture represents guidance, power, and a cult of the leader. In the propaganda it states "Long live Germany," Hitler believed that Germany was superior to everyone else on the planet. The Germans believed in having a strong rigid government, most German's agreed with totalitarianism. After the death of Hitler the occurance of the Iron Curtain was created.
                            Source 2
The "Iron Curtain," is the boarder line between two different ideologies. One side is communist totalitarianism, they are a group of collectivists that believe in a strong dictatorship . The other side being democratic, allowing them to be individualists, getting the choice to vote and having little government involvement. Both battling one another because they both think their ideologies are better. The leader of the communist side was Joseph Stalin.
                           Source 3
Joseph Stalin was one of the main organizers of the Bolkshieviks party and was the leader of the communist country, Russia. Stalin was a very strong dictator who took advantage of being given so much power. In source 3 Stalin states,"Death is the solution to all problems. No man-no problem" hearing him quote this proves how inhumane he treated his people. One reason he treated everyone so poorly and unjust was because he was paranoid of being over thrown, causing him to trust no one.

All three sources
Two very evil dictators that had a lot in common were Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin. They both believed in running a strong forceful government. Even though they both had a lot in common, in some cases they were complete opposites. One example is that both the dictators are on opposite ends of the economic spectrum. Hitler was fascist while Stalin was communist. The difference of the two is that fascist's want individualism and have a lot of inequality while communist's want collectivism and equality- except Stalin, he demands to be the best.
After the death of Hitler, there was only one major dictator left, that dictator being Joseph Stalin. He began to get greedy and by doing so the "Iron Curtain," was created. The boarder of the Iron Curtain separated two different ideologies, communism and democratic capitalism. Stalin tried to take over every country but was thankfully unsuccessful. I believe that people should have the right to vote for their represented government and be allowed to be individualists. If you work hard and are doing well with life you should be able to receive the satisfaction from that work, rather than work hard and not get any further ahead. Every person should be able to be free and get to achieve their goals and follow their own beliefs.

"We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give." Said by Winston Churchill. Government plays an important role in our society. With these three sources about Hitler, the Iron Curtain and Stalin, government plays a huge role, whether its a low amount of government or a significant amount.

Source one is showing that Hitler was in power by standing bigger than everyone else and showed this through propaganda. Fascism is used widely to embrace many dictatorial right wring parties and governments. Adolf Hitler was a Fascist. He used his power to over rule the people and used propaganda to influence a fascist state. Hitler turned Germany from a democratic society into a totalitarianism society. Hitler took away all their rights and made them follow him, since he was so powerful. For example, when Hitler convinced everyone that the Jews where not a true German and needed them to be inexistent.

Source two is showing a map of Europe post WWII. After WWII The Cold War began, and divided Europe into two sides, communism and democracy. In 1946 Churchill called Soviet domination of E. Europe, The Iron curtain divided the western and the eastern sides of Europe and created two different alliances. Communism is when the government owns and operates almost all nations means of production, while a democracy is when the government owns and operates very little of the nation and gives people lots of freedom. With these two very different ideologies there was lots of competition. This competition lead to the invention of the nuclear bomb. The first was dropped on Hiroshima on August 6th 1945 and the second on Nagasaki August 9th 1945. The Russians weren't surprised about the bomb, they were more surprised that the US actually used it. Also the two sides of Germany competed over puppet states. Puppet states are little states that are surrounding the country that are controlled by that country.

Source 3 is a quote from Joseph Stalin "Death is the solution to all problems. No man-no problem." This source makes sense, by telling the actual truth. Joseph Stalin is saying that without people there will be no problems, although this is a very unrealistic assumption it has some truth behind it.  People and their issues are one of the main causes of political and economic problems. Joseph Stalin was a very communist person that believed in that the government owns and operates almost all the nations means of production. With this mind set on the economy, Stalin became a very powerful person in which people followed and obeyed him. For example when Stalin created the Gulag labor camps that forced everyone into work.

With these three different sources, i believe that the best form of government would be when we have some political control but are able to have the freedom to do what we please with our lives. With all these different views on how the government is looked at and how its portrayed to the society, that's where we get different ideologies.
